Saving Private Ryan - M1 Helmet Liner

A prop helmet liner used in the 1998 war movie "Saving Private Ryan" starring: Tom Hanks, Tom Sizemore, Edward Burns, Barry Pepper, Adam Goldberg, Vin Diesel & Giovanni Ribisi.

This M1 helmet liner was made and used by the U.S. armed forces in the 1960's and 70's and is a genuine U.S. military liner, many like this were used in the film as it was cheaper & easier than using period liners, the liner itself has been modified by the costume dept by adding two metal connectors for adding a leather chin strap, this is a unique modification only done to liners used in Saving Private Ryan. The liner is a standard size designed to fit the M1 helmet, if you have a helmet from Saving Private Ryan missing a liner this one will fit just fine.

The internal webbing has an ink stamp that reads 'U.S. ACAD', this was the unique stamp added to all costumes supplied by Academy Costumes London. After a spate of on-set thefts the majority of clothing and some equipment was marked either 'U.S. ACAD' or 'U.S. SPR'.
