A visually stunning prototype helmet made for the 2003 film "The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen" Starring: Sean Connery, Peta Wilson, Richard Roxburgh & Tony Curran.

This work of art was originally built as a prototype helmet for the actor Richard Roxburgh, who played the characters The Fantom / Professor Moriarty. It was rejected in favour of the simpler gold mask as seen in the film, probably because this design would have been too cumbersome for the action scenes.

Made predominantly of shaped leather pieces mounted on an internal horse rider’s protective skull cap, the face and large protrusion at the rear of the head are both clad in copper which has been electroplated onto the leather. The construction costs must have been quite high for this piece as the build quality is excellent.

This beautifully made helmet really is a work of art and would display well in any environment, and will also come supplied with the stand seen in the pictures. The helmet measures: 48 x 41 x 22 cm (19" x 16" x 8¾").

This item comes supplied with a Certificate of Authenticity.
