A prop sword & sheath used in the epic 2004 film "Alexander" starring Colin Farrell, Anthony Hopkins, Val Kilmer & Angelina Jolie.
This prop Macedonian hoplite phalanx sword (Xiphos sword) was used throughout the film and can clearly be seen being used by the Macedonian soldiers. The sword features heavily during the Persian campaign and would have been used during the epic Persian battle.
The sword is very well made and constructed from metal and very dense rubber handle painted to appear like wood, the blade has various nicks indicating it was used in the fighting scenes. The sheath is made from dense rubber and has a leather look paint effect.
The sword and sheath measure: 65 x 9 x 3.5 cm (25½” x 3½” x 1½”) at the widest points.
