Richard III - Prop Metal Helmet

A prop helmet used in the 1995 film “Richard III” starring: Ian McKellen, Annette Bening, Jim Broadbent, Robert Downey Jr & Nigel Hawthorne.

These prop helmets can clearly be seen throughout the film being worn by the Queen’s/King’s soldiers. In the film the British soldiers wear a cross between East German & British clothing seen during WW2, this was to give the look of a Fascist Britain.

The helmet is made from metal and is a British MK 4 “Turtle” helmet used during the Cold War, it features an adjustable chin strap and liner, and on the front of the helmet it shows the distinctive boars head decal, this decal was seen on all the soldier uniforms.
